Echoes from the Square

Creativity over destruction - based on true actions of the cellist of Sarajevo.

The folks in Sandwich chose "Echoes from the Square" for their children's program because the adults in the town were reading the similarly-themed "People of the Book" by Geraldine Brooks.

I highly recommend it. It truly conveyed the sense of how, over the centuries, people with different viewpoints have sometimes existed in harmony and at other times dissolved into chaos. Our human ebbs and flows.....

Another book (a novel) that's closely related to "Echoes form the Square" is Steven Galloway's "The Cellist of Sarajevo". Steven is a friend, and we were very moved by his depiction of reactions to the siege of Sarajevo.
